The Lady Maroons Softball Team is ready to move onto the field to begin the 2014-2015 season. The JV and Varsity have been working very hard to be able to put on a great season opening to showcase their love of the game. Head Coach Elizabeth Wissel is very excited about the upcoming season.

“[Our team’s goal is to] win every inning, which we want to turn into being successful each game, Wissel said. “These girls have a lot to prove and I know they will work for what they want.”

Because of their motivation and attitude, Wissel has big expectations for the girls on the team.

“My expectations this year are really high,” Wissel said.  “I have 7 seniors that have been on varsity since their freshman year, we have put a lot of work in and we are ready for it to pay off.”

Junior Varsity Player Esperanza Reynolds anticipates her team will be driven all throughout this season.

“We as a team expect nothing less than a distance win and going deep into playoffs,” Reynolds said.

In addition to being close on the field, the girls on the softball team are close off the field.

“What excites me about the team this year is that we have all grown close as a huge family,” Reynolds said.  “I know that I can depend on any of the other amazing talented girls to help me on and off the field.”

Be sure to come out to see the Lady Maroons Softball Team in action at Westlake at 5:30 p.m. April 1st.
