The e-Sports team competes with students across the nation.

Senior Roberto Manco-Stenz helped begin the new e-Sports team that competes against schools all across the country on titles such as Fortnite, Rainbow Six Siege and Overwatch.

“Whoever has been on the team, we’ve all become good friends now. We help each other improve.” Manco-Stenz said.

According to Manco-Stenz, the most significant challenge is having other students take the club seriously. The recurring challenge that faces e-Sports are the entrance fees at gaming events.

“It’s a lot of fun to interact with friends and play video games,” freshman Walker Roan King said. “The competitive atmosphere is great. There’s even a team in Hawaii. All the players on the team are roughly on the same skill level. A lot of the kids on the Overwatch team are my friends so that makes it easier to cooperate with one another.”

The team is apart of the high school e-Sports league which according to Manco-Stenz the team was definitely a success.

“I play Overwatch on the PC,” freshman Julian Cortera said.  “I’d say that the team is pretty good. It’s fun to hang out with friends on the team and play games online.”

The team currently hold a record of four wins to two losses in Overwatch.

“It gives me something to do after school like hanging out with friends, playing video games not by myself, and having a good time,” Tran said.
