Varsity wide receiver Sawyer Berry put 12 points on the board by catching two touchdown passes against McCallum Thursday night, although it still wasn’t enough. McCallum (6-0) blew out Austin 56-13.

In the first few minutes of the game, the Knights took the ball to score a 69 yard touchdown. Then with 7:49 left in the first quarter, McCallum passed the ball and ran it in 41 yards to score another touchdown. Austin (3-3) turned the ball over twice on downs during the first quarter.

The Maroons were unable to score until quarterback Sam Saxton threw a 25-yard pass to Sawyer Berry in the third quarter. The Knights racked up 42 more points and only allowed the Maroons to score once more, with a 37-yard pass from freshman quarterback Charles Wright to Berry, late in the fourth quarter.

Austin is currently third in district and will take on Lanier at House Park next Thursday.
