Senior Night against Anderson.

Last night the Maroons took on Akins for the end of district play and went out with a bang!  The Freshmen started the evening out by knocking off Akins 8-0.  This victory locked up the first district championship for our freshmen program!!!  This was the first year we have ever had a 3rd team and we are soooooooooo excited about how well these young ladies competed.  The freshmen ended their season with a record of 15-3…their only 3 loses came to JV teams.

The JV then took the field and continued with the domination of Akins.  Up 1-0 at half, the game ended with a 4-0 victory over the Eagles.

The Varsity then took the field for their final tune up before playoffs.  Having been off for 11 days, I was a little worried about how well we would play.  It took a little time to knock the rust off, but in true Maroon fashion, only allowed Akins 1 shot the entire game and would light up the scoreboard with 7 goals.  Defender Hailey Heal had a hat trick (3 goals), Meredith Curran had 1 goal, 1 assist, Madison Tumicki had 1 goal, 2 assist, Kara Titus and Zoe Larrimore each had 1 goal.

The Maroons will take the field Friday for the first round of the UIL State Playoffs.  Game time is now set at 8 pm since another team is playing before us.  We will play Cedar Ridge HS at the Kelley Reeves Athletic Complex on Parmer Road between Lakeline and Avery Ranch.
