Shyamalan’s “Split” Redeems Director

M. Night Shyamalan started 2017 off with a mind blowing experience. The critically acclaimed film Split is one of Shyamalan’s many movies. Most famous for his horror movies, such as The Sixth Sense and Signs, Shyamalan has been making movies since the 1990’s with much success. However, Shyamalan’s last few films have received harsh criticism. I was not a fan of The Last Airbender as I thought it was horribly written and I also did not like The Visit as I just did not find it very scary. M. Night Shyamalan needed to redeem himself, and he sure did with Split.

I myself had the honor of watching the movie on opening night, and it was worth it. As soon as the opening scene came on, you could feel the tension everywhere in the theater.  It’s a great movie to go see with friends because there are moments in the movie when you need someone next to you. The film is like a roller coaster ride; there are moments where you think you know what’s going on and then there are moments where you have no clue what’s going on. The experience is really an indescribable feeling.

James McAvoy, the main character in this film, does an extraordinary job. Although he is the main lead, the supporting actors and actresses did a spectacular job as well. This movie had some of the best acting I have seen. This movie is also very well-produced and the camera angles always make it feel like you are actually in the film.

Overall, I think this movie was a great and fun experience to see in theaters and is really a suspenseful ride from beginning to end. I would recommend this movie to absolutely anyone else looking for a fun time and a mind blowing experience.
